Third Symposium of IPFN, 2011

The Third Symposium of the Irish Phytochemical Food Network (IPFN) was the latest of a series of annual symposia that aims to promote academic and food industry interaction on phytochemicals from fruits and vegetables in a Farm to Fork approach.

Every year among participants there are key representativesof main Irish Universities, Institutes of Technology and Research Centres, but also from Industry (Food, Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic) and public bodies (Department of Agriculture, Entreprise Ireland, Bord Bia ...).
This third meeting took place on the 1srt April 2011 and aimed to inform and promote dialogue with stakeholders on phytochemicals, aiming to provide an update on current tends from an Irish perspective.

The symposium is organized by Dr. Juan Valverde (Scientific Officer of the Irish Phytochemical Food Network) and sponsored by Department of Agriculture Fisheries and Food (FIRM Ref. Num. 06/NITARFC6).

The Third Symposium was comprised of a series of lectures from Ireland based researchers and two key note speakers;

Professor Mike Gibney from University College of Dublin (Ireland) and Professor Jose Vina from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Valencia (Spain).
